Lowell Mick White
I'm the author of five books: the novels Burnt House and That Demon Life and Professed, and and the story collectionsThe Messes We Make of Our Lives and Long Time Ago Good. I'm editor of Alamo Bay Press and an instructor at Alamo Bay Writers' Workshop. My writing has been published in two dozen or so journals, including Callaloo, Iron Horse Literary Review, and Short Story, and I've won the Dobie-Paisano Fellowship, awarded by the University of Texas at Austin and the Texas Institute of Letters. I've been the National Endowment for the Arts Artist-in-Residence at the federal prison in Bryan, Texas, and I'm now Instructional Assistant Professor of English at Texas A&M University. A couple of years ago, I was happily inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters.
